Covid-19's Impact on Eating Disorders

A radio documentary looking at the impact that the Covid-19 lockdown has had on those with an eating disorder and the services there to help in Scotland. For those with an eating disorder, Covid-19 and the lockdown has made it harder to cope with routines being disrupted, the general guilt of going to the doctors and hospitals, and some resources being restricted. This documentary delves into how those with the disorder have been coping.

I spoke to Sarah* to hear what it has been like for her during lockdown with an eating disorder and other mental health issues. I also spoke with Diane from SupportED, a local charity to discuss their perspective, and Adrienne Rennie, an eating disorder and mental health ambassador.

*Sarah is not her real name and is voiced by an actress for anonymity reasons.
